"Made everything more stable. Sorted out my medical issues, find work and get me back on my feet"

“Helped me realise life is for living. Helped me find a new place to live. Helped me make friends.”

Support Provided

We offer low–medium housing related support; residents are expected to engage with staff to address their support needs with a view to moving towards independent accommodation.  This includes:

  • Pre-tenancy workshop programme – ‘Stepping Forward’ – 8 workshops designed to prepare residents for moving on to independent accommodation
  • 1:1 support with keyworker
  • Outcome Star tool to assess needs, set goals and review progress made
  • Housing-related support – including: accessing external services; claiming benefits; budgeting, resettlement, CV writing and job search.

Residents are charged a weekly rent and service charge; many claim housing benefit for help with this.

Referrals

Our accommodation is suitable for homeless adults over the age of 18.  As rooms are single we cannot accommodate couples or children.  Applicants must fulfil the Trust’s risk assessment.

Those in need of our service can self-refer by completing an application form.  If they have a support worker (of any description) they can also complete the referral section of the form.  We welcome referrals from any agencies in contact with single homeless people. Referrals come from a number of sources such as other homeless charities, Arun District Council, probation and social services. Preference is given to those who have a local connection.

All of our projects are fully furnished; residents have their own rooms and share all other facilities. Meals are not provided. Our projects are not physically staffed 24 hours a day; however, when staff are not present on site an emergency ‘on call’ service is in operation.  All of our projects have CCTV both internally and externally.
