Respect Yourself

"Helping young people make their own decisions using others’ past experience and wisdom."

Who We Help, Why We Help & the Difference It Makes

The key aim of Respect Yourself is to ensure that young people can fulfil their potential as individuals. Our aim is to provide information and support to young people aged between 13 and 25. This support and assistance is in the form of a daily message, backed up with further detailed information on the website.

Our chief aims are to fill those gaps that naturally exist with young people and also to provide assistance in the form of moral and motivational support at critical times. The topics cover what is experienced through life – bullying, finance, sexual health, the law and cultivating positive mental habits.

Armed with this information we hope to assist in making the right choices and improving quality of life.

Daily Message

Young people will receive regular messages on a range of topics, which will grow over time. The content of messages will be often be provided by a relevant authority – so for example for a bullying topic the relevant text messages might be provided by a Bullying Advice charity. In addition, we collaborate with participating authorities to provide their own messages. This ensures young people are fully protected.

Additional Information

Respect Yourself is an independent organisation and, as well as creating daily messages, works in partnership with other UK charities and organisations to help get their important messages out to the younger generation to make a real impact in our lives, our communities and our world.

Our aim is to ensure the best possible support is available for young people so any information provided by the organisation is vetted to ensure it satisfies any legal, ethical or moral frameworks to ensure that they represent no danger to young people.

Who can I contact if I am in immediate danger?

If you are in immediate danger you must call 999.

Respect Yourself is not a crisis service. Whilst you can send us questions, feedback and suggestions, Respect Yourself does not replace an emergency service and is not manned 24 hours a day. We are an information and signposting service, we do not give advice or liaise with organisations on your behalf. If you need to talk to someone now and you are not in immediate danger, Childline is available now on 0800 1111, and calls are free and confidential.

Inform the account owner of Respect Yourself that you'd like to see the "" field in their profile.

To do so, click the "Send Message" button below. This will send the profile's account owner a message just letting them know that someone would like them to update their profile. It's completely anonymous and it's just a friendly reminder for the project.
